Prince George DE System Finishing Construction

Construction for the Prince George Downtown District Energy System should be completed by the end of November. Crews have been putting in pipe since August for hot water to be pumped to downtown buildings for thermal heating needs. Supervisor Kristy Brown says pipe construction is on schedule.

"We are currently at 7th and Dominion," says Brown, "were heading up along 7th in front of the pool and were also heading down Dominion towards the library.

Brown says they hope to start using the new energy system by the middle of January.  The new system will provide energy to about 10 buildings including the Four Seasons, the Art Gallery and City Hall.
